9.      Statement of purpose: I would be delighted to serve my fellow dietitians for another term as Treasurer on the South Carolina Dietetic Association
Board. I feel the team has made some major strides with the help of our financial advisors and I would like to continue to move forward accomplishing more tasks.
I have established a strong working relationship with our financial advisors and feel confident moving forward with them working on SCDA’s fiscal goals.

In 2011, after much investigation and thought we invested ~$50,000 of cash into a (hopefully) revenue producing fund. This money is used for scholarships and was bearing <$5 interest per quarter, we hope to gain more interest in order to provide more scholarship money to deserving members. My current project is to investigate the appropriate and historical use of the Julia Brunson and Burris Cromer memorial funds. There appears to be much history behind these funds and we want to make sure they are being used appropriately to benefit SCDA members.

I hope to encourage more dietitians to be active and involved with their local and state organizations so they too can see how rewarding it is. I would love the opportunity to CONTINUE to move forward and serve as Treasurer with such a brilliant team for another term.
