The Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University is seeking a lecturer for a full-time (100% Teaching), 9-month non-tenure track position in Nutrition with opportunities to teach summer courses to supplement the 9-month salary. This individual will have a background in human nutrition, registered dietitian credentials, with a preference for applicants having clinical experience. The successful candidate is expected to teach basic and clinical nutrition classes such as: (1) NUTR 2030; Principles of Human Nutrition and (2) NUTR 2050; Nutrition for Nursing Professionals. The Chair in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences will supervise the successful candidate and assign future coursework. Since this position lies within the Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences Department, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to interact collegially and collaborate with faculty working in nutrition, food science and/or packaging science.
The position is described as 100% teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching major and non-major undergraduate nutrition courses NUTR 2030 Principles of Human Nutrition and NUTR 2050 Nutrition for Nursing Professionals. Additional courses will be assigned at the discretion of the chair of the Department of Food, Nutrition & Packaging Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required - Masters degree in Human Nutrition or related degree, and registered dietitian credentials; Preferred - Recent clinical experience, university level teaching, and experience with distance education. Applicants should have excellent oral and written English communication skills, ability to work in teams, solve problems, and have demonstrated skills in electronic/information technology. Candidates that have proven effectiveness in university teaching will be given priority.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE: Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary is competitive and negotiable.
