Statement of purpose: I am humbled and honored to accept the nomination for President Elect in 2018-2019, and am excited to increase my involvement and contribution to SCAND. My leadership positions thus far have helped strengthen my time-management, communication, and organizational skills to help prepare me for this opportunity to serve on the SCAND board. As current Charleston-Trident President, I have been able to fine tune my leadership style and find that I am able to unite and motivate a group of people through my positive attitude and passion for our profession. I am eager to extend my reach and professional network by serving as President Elect for SCAND.

Working at the state level opens up the possibility to network with an even wider range of dietitians and assist others in growing in their professional careers. I have loved having the ability to stay involved at the state level as the Awards Chair, and am eager to continue as the Nominating Chair.
