EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a BS or MS degree in nutrition or dietetics from an accredited college or university; be a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; be a Registered Dietitian (RD) in good standing or examination-eligible; be licensed by the state of practice; possess basic i<keyboarding and computer skills; have legible handwriting; be familiar with regulatory requirements; possess good interpersonal and supervisory skills; be of good physical and mental health

DUTIES:

  1. Completes initial nutritional assessments, quarterly assessments, and other dietary documentation per White Oak management, Inc., policies and procedures and federal and state guidelines; liaisons with the White Oak management, Inc. corporate dietitian and other staff members as needed to formulate optimal nutritional care plans
  2. Maintains frequent contact with residents, staff, and residents' responsible parties to facilitate optimal nutritional status of all residents
  3. Participates and provides representation on facility committees, including but not limited to resident care plan meetings, wounds and weights meetings, morning stand-LIP meetings, Medicare meetings, safety meetings, infection control meetings, resident council meetings, and utilization review meetings
  4. Provides or assures in-services related to nutritional care are provided to all dietary and facility-wide staff on a routine as well as as-needed basis; assures maintenance of written records including an outline of subject matter presented and an attendance sign-in sheet
  5. Serves as a liaison with and communicates with the White Oak Management, Inc., corporate dietary consultant in formulating policies and procedures, menu formation, and food service quality assurance, and more.........

Grand Strand Hospital Bariatric Surgery , Myrtle Beach, SC is Seeking a Bariatric Dietitian

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Bariatric Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary weight loss team. The ideal candidate will provide expert nutritional care and counseling to patients undergoing bariatric surgery and participating in medical weight loss programs. This role is critical in supporting patients before and after surgery to ensure optimal outcomes and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for bariatric surgery candidates (pre-op and post-op) and medical weight loss patients.
• Provide individualized nutrition education and counseling to support behavior change and
long-term weight management.
• Develop and monitor meal plans tailored to the specific bariatric procedure (e.g., gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy) and patient health conditions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
• Lead group classes and informational sessions on pre- and post-operative nutrition, vitamin supplementation, and lifestyle changes.
• Document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and
accurate manner.
• Monitor patients for signs of nutritional deficiencies and coordinate supplementation as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with ASMBS guidelines, best practices, and emerging research in
bariatric nutrition.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required.
• Licensed or eligible for Iicensure in the state of Sout Carolina.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in bariatrics, weight management, or clinical nutrition preferred.
• Knowledge of the nutritional management of patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
• Strong communication skills and empathetic counseling approach.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
• Certification as a Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) or completion of a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management (Level 1 or 2).
• Experience working in a metabolic and bariatric surgery center of excellence.

Position Summary
The Outpatient Oncology Dietitian develops and maintains a comprehensive nutritional program for cancer patients and their families and aids in the adjustment to living with a chronic and life-threatening illness. On an aggregate level, the Outpatient Oncology Dietitian participates in a collaborative process of assessment, care coordination, planning, facilitation, referral, and advocacy for options and services to meet an individual’s health needs. This position will participate as a valued member of the multidisciplinary care team. Must work well in a team setting, be flexible and adapt to changes in the work environment.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition

Experience: N/A

License/Registration/Certifications: Registered Dietician/Licensed Dietitian

Preferred Requirements

Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Nutrition

Preferred Experience: One year or more experience with a nutrition support team or as a therapeutic dietician in oncology

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) or Oncology Nutrition Certification

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for screening, assessment and implementation plans for cancer patients and/or family members.
  • Required to function independently to provide education, counseling and intervention.
  • Position includes participation in community events, rehab classes, program development and evaluation, and any other assigned responsibilities relating to nutrition and cancer.
  • Develop and review nutrition guidelines and policies for outpatient oncology patients at Gibbs Cancer Center
  • Provides one-to-one education and intervention with oncology patients including all aspects of home enteral therapy.
  • Monitor’s patient’s response to nutritional intervention and communicates critical information to the treatment team.
  • Coordinates formula and equipment resources for patient’s requiring home enteral nutrition
  • Participates in site specific multidisciplinary planning conferences (MPC’s)
  • Documents patient’s assessments, interventions, and clinical notes in EMR to support patient care.
  • Attends and reports out on Nutrition Care Committee meetings. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
