 seeking a Registered Dietitian

JOB PURPOSE: To perform specialized duties in areas of school food service that support school based meal programs in accordance with School Board policies and procedures, and state, and federal Child Nutrition Program regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: Knowledgeable in child and adolescent nutrition

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS: Registered and Licensed Dietitian ServSafe Manager Level Certification (if not already certified, must become certified within first 30 days of employment) Valid South Carolina Driver's License

OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: Skill in comprehending and evaluating facts and problems associated with student food service situations, exercising sound judgment, and taking decisive and timely action in accordance with standard operating procedures Skill in gathering, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data, utilizing various statistical techniques, applying concepts to assist in formulating conclusions, and developing recommendations and solutions Skill in presenting information in a variety of formats

White Oak-York has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Registered Dietitian. The facility is located in beautiful historic York, SC, and has very strong family and community support. We are a skilled LTC facility that also accepts short-term rehabilitation patients. The RD is responsible for all the clinical documentation for White Oak-York as well as  high risk coverage for another White Oak facility. There is a full-time Dining Services Director at WO-York who manages all the food service and dining programs at the facility. White Oak embraces resident centered care and we have a strong team of leaders at the home who work well together to make our elders happy. The ideal candidate has a passion for geriatrics and works well with the care plan team.

    Required Certifications/Licensure: Certification as Diabetes Care and Education Specialist; or must obtain certification as Diabetes Care and Education Specialist within 6 months of start date as a condition of continued employment. Certification in CPR.

General Statement of Job 
Under limited supervision, is responsible for planning menus, special promotions, providing nutritional
information, assist in grant proposals, marketing, and community outreach. Supervises Chef Lead; reviews subordinates to ensure customer service and operational performance goals are met. Reports to the Director of Nutrition Services.

Essential Functions: Administers school nutritional programs (e.g. menu development, recipe development, nutritional analysis) to ensure compliance with all federal and state guidelines; Produces and maintains the monthly menus and nutritional analysis for stakeholders; Participates in all food purchasing activities, including bid specification qualities and bid awards. Works closely with vendors/suppliers in the bidding and delivery of goods process; Provides scientifically based nutrition expertise to Richland One schools; Creates production records for menu cycle; Collaborates with Chef Lead to conduct and coordinate food taste tests with students and Richland One employees; and more... 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from a school accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; up-to-date certification as Registered Dietitian by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and 1-3 years of experience or pre-professional experience/internship in a school or other institutional or commercial setting where quantity food preparation techniques were used, or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
