Anita Longan, M.S, R.D.N./L.D., C.D.E., B.C.-A.D.M.

Anita Longan provides diabetes education, as well as nutrition and lifestyle counseling to patients and their families, at the HopeHealth Diabetes & Nutrition Institute.  She believes that the most important part of her job is to help her patients incorporate healthy lifestyle skills into their busy and sometimes challenging lives.  She joined HopeHealth in 2012 and developed an AADE accreditied Diabetes Self-Management Education Program for Florence area patients.  In 2016, the program began its expansion to HopeHealth’s rural clinics, via telehealth.  Anita is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator and is Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.  She is a certified lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program and serves as Quality Coordinator for the HopeHealth Diabetes & Nutrition Institute DSMES and DPP programs.  She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of NH and Master’s Degree at Winthrop University.  In her free time, she enjoys developing new recipes, being active outdoors, and traveling.
